Turn A Bad Event Into A Good Day πŸ˜•πŸ˜€πŸ˜

So I got towed this morning...

I was so preoccupied with work and phone calls that I forgot to move my car after the snow emergency was declared.

Everything happens for a reason.

That time was spent reflecting, talking, joking. (That money was spent elsewhere...)

But sometimes we do need an event like this to help us to re-center ourselves.

It could be worse, it could be better. It is what it is.

Ignore the negative thoughts. Make the next move. Learn from it.

#WhyVideo ???

Today as part of the #WhyVideo hashtag campaign, I share about why I create videos.

—I have reached a broad audience and community of like-minded people willing to connect, learn and grow together.

—I know more people can feel my energy and passion when I'm broadcasting video vs. sharing text or images.

—Most importantly, I have been able to overcome the idea of judgement and caring about what other people think.

Finding Your Balance πŸ”Žβ˜―οΈβš–οΈ

Balance is what keeps us from falling off the tightrope of life.

Things like work-life balance and our health habits are fundamental in this.

The creation to consumption ratio is also a fun one :)

Try to put out into the world as much as you consume.

Use a journal or **note cards** to write down valuable bits of information from entertainment, books or podcasts. That way you can organize and sort it out easier.

Have a great week!

80/20β€”Be A Leader, Not A Follower πŸ€΄πŸ‘ΈπŸ¦

I heard this awhile back at a MVRS event, put on by Dan Nelson + team, from Jim Kelly...

80% of any team are followers—they show up on time, put in the hours and get their work done.

20% are leaders and high performers—they put in the extra hours and contribute more than is asked of them.

No matter if you're working at a company or on your own projects, take the steps to make sure you put 100% in everything you do.

That could mean things like helping or communicating on company chat rooms/bulletin boards more, implementing new ideas or networking with new people in the business.

I'm so proud to see the people I've grown up with and met throughout the years achieving so much.

Keep up the good work Hunter Kievet!! Can't wait to see what else is in store!

One Thing At A Time πŸ“’βœ…βοΈ

Personally, I love to start hundreds of different projects all at the same time. The energy is flowing and I feel the motivation to get everything done at once.

This can be great, but it can also become a poor habit as you start to notice your incomplete projects.

Create a checklist of things you need to do. Set priorities and tackle one at a time.

This has dramatically increased my productivity as I no longer try to switch from task to task every hour. Plus, it feels great to finish something entirely.

Complete, move on, feel great.

Happy 2/22 :)

College Studentsβ€”Take Advantage of Opportunities While You Can πŸ‘¨β€πŸŽ“πŸ‘©β€πŸŽ“πŸŽ“

If you're in college, you have access to so many resources that can help you to grow.

Join a club or sport, start creating videos or explore the outdoors. Do things that make you happy.

Whether you learn better in the classroom or on your own, make sure you try as many new things as you can to find your passions.

Utilize the free tools and networking opportunities while you can. Your teachers, friends, peers and alumni are all there to help you.

Good luck!!

We're All Going Through Challenges β›ˆπŸΊβ˜€οΈ

Life is hard. Everyone is busy. There's always tomorrow.

Make it a goal to smile at (with eye contact!) or start a conversation with one new person every day.

You might change their life...and they might change yours.

Well-Designed Logos πŸ–πŸ‘»πŸš€

Always be open to feedback for improvement. Your peers are the ordinary customer.

A great logo shows exactly what your business offers just by looking at it.

Use colors in logos to invoke emotions. Some examples: —Red for hunger, urgency or excitement —Green for healthy, organic products or the environment —Black for power, intelligence or simplicity

Make it special and make it a part of you. This is YOUR brand and others will recognize you from it.

One easy way to create a logo, if you're not too artistically inclined, is to use a free online AI logo maker. Create a design using the software to get some ideas, and then take it to a graphic designer to have it perfected.

Appreciate the Little Things πŸ‘πŸ€πŸ˜Š

I want to say THANK YOU for all the support along the way so far!!!

I see how much work creators are doing to make quality content and how hard it is for those just starting out.

Let me ask you this: How easy is it to like, comment, share or review the things these people—your friends—are creating?

Small actions can go a long ways.

Happy Monday :)

Good Sleep for a Great Week! πŸ›ŒπŸ˜΄πŸ’€

We all know the difference of how we feel after going to sleep before 10:00 p.m. vs after midnight.

We all know the importance of getting 8 hours, staying in a routine, and not eating too late.

So why do we still stay up late and why don't we always follow these rules?

I came across an email from my friend, Patrick Buggy, who runs Mindful Ambition, a newsletter for professionals who want to better themselves in their work and personal lives.

The email has a checklist on all the important things to do on a low level to get a good night sleep, but also includes what to do on a HIGHER LEVEL: —Why do you want to sleep more? —Who are you capable of being when you’re well-rested? —What are you capable of accomplishing?

These were the questions I started asking myself that pushed me to make these changes in my life.

This was the immediate implementation I was searching for to tell myself late at night, "I can work on this task tomorrow."

Importance of Email Lists πŸŽ―πŸ’ŒπŸ“«

Getting our beautiful content in front of someone's face is getting harder by the day. Emails are still one of the greatest tools into the lives of prospective leads.

Cold emailing can work, but how about getting a lead to engage with you AND hand deliver their email address?

Unfortunately, it takes more than a simple text input on a website to capture a lead's email address.

People are looking for value in exchange for a key to their personal inbox, or as I like to call it, their home.

You need to offer something in return, such as:
—Free e-books or tips
—Free trials or products
—Coupon codes

Try to get creative with it.

And make sure you don't get lost in spam :)

You Absolutely Should Be Embarrassed By Your First Product/Version πŸ™ˆπŸ˜³β²

If the product is too perfect, there won't be any room for future growth.

Let the customers find your mistakes. Get them to engage with you by telling you what they like and don't like.

If you can manage to solve a customer's problem they tell you they are having, you might have a customer for life.

And lifelong customers speak louder than Facebook ads.

Reflection πŸ›‘πŸ“πŸŒ»

I am halfway through my 28 Days of Video Challenge on LinkedIn and here is my experience...

What I learned: — Talking in front of a camera gets A LOT easier — How to edit videos on Premiere, FCP, iMovie, etc. — LinkedIn is a very strong platform

What challenged me: — Balancing my time — Coming up with new content — Posting every single day

I appreciate all the support I've received along the way. I wouldn't be able to do it without you.

Stay Consistent πŸ”πŸ₯ΎπŸ’«

Consistency is one piece of the puzzle. Whether it's pushing more content or videos, going to the gym or even sticking with your daily routines.

When you keep up with the work, you will see growth.

I look up to a lot of these individuals on LinkedIn who are always pushing out new content. Love seeing more people hopping on the train as well.

I Interviewed Scott Rogowsky, Host of HQ Trivia πŸ”₯🌏🀯

When an opportunity arises, you better jump on it.

I ran into the "Quiz Daddy" out by the pool of our hotel in Australia.

This man stands in front of millions of people per week, so yes, I was nervous.

But who knows how upset I would have been had I not asked him to make a video with me.

In this clip, I asked him what some of his successful habits or daily routines were. You can see the full video at the link below.

Thank you, Scott! It was a pleasure meeting and learning from you today. I hope others can as well!

Make Mistakes 😜😬🀭

Don't be afraid to try new things and make mistakes.

Yes, it can be embarrassing at times, but that is a part of our growth and development!

I make mistakes every single day. This helps me to learn quickly what didn't work, and how to make things better.

We all deserve second chances in life, especially if our intentions are good.

Relaxation πŸ–β˜€οΈπŸ”‹

I often forget the importance of spending some time away from work.

Today that is what I am focused on. Recharging and soaking in some long-forgotten vitamin D and enjoying the waves crashing on the beach.

Just don't want to get burnt out...pun intended :)

Podcast/Book Recommendations πŸ”ŠπŸ“šπŸ€“

It's the freakin' weekend!

Let's shout out some awesome podcasts and books.

β€”Adam French: Applying Awareness
β€”Jordan Paris: Growth Mindset University
β€”Urban Misfit Ventures: Strange on Purpose
β€”Chris Hatfield: Not Another Sales Podcast

If you have any other recommendations, comment below :) I know I forgot some...

#podcasts #books

Being Open-Minded πŸŒŽπŸ€―πŸ”†

Listen to ideas and test out what works best.

Don't shut something out until you've seen both sides.

Trying new things will allow you to see what works and what doesn't.

If one customer gives you feedback, there's probably 100 more thinking the same thing.

Find Your Strengths, Outsource The Rest πŸ’ͺπŸ€Ήβ€πŸš€

I hear this all the time, you need to focus on what you can do to better your company.

It’s one of my biggest learning lessons. In my first company, I failed to delegate and bring on members to my team.

I wanted to do it all because I was afraid of where my business would go.

2 people are better than 1.

Meditation πŸ§˜β€β€οΈπŸ§

We learn about all the benefits of meditation...

Controlling stress, makes you happier, improves brain function and the immune system and definitely helps with sleep too!

You can try it anywhere. Even while running/exercising πŸƒβ€πŸƒ

If you need help getting started, there are tons of great free and paid guided meditations on YouTube and searching Google.

Reach out if you need any recommendations πŸ˜„

Positive Energy βš‘οΈβ˜€οΈπŸ¦

Find something that electrifies you.

Surround yourself with people you look up to.

My guy, Jacob Anderson, is always out there firing people up. I appreciate your drive and belief in others and I’m always trying to be like you.

Antoine Taylor, you need no introduction... πŸ‘ŠπŸ˜ this guy is helping motivate kids to get to college and give back as a recent graduate himself!

I finally got to meet Jeff Van Kampen today. An all around incredible guy who has so many great insights from experience and pushes to learn something new everyday.

There are so many more...

Stay Positive 😎

Persistence πŸ“§πŸ—£πŸ‘‘

Don’t be afraid to ask for what you want!

If you hear “no,” take it as a lesson and try again.

Had a great time catching up with Chandler Luhowskyj today and excited to keep the conversation going!!

Exploration πŸ‘€πŸŒŽπŸ₯Ύ

Get outdoors and check out what the world has to offer.

If you ever get the chance to make it to Milwaukee, it is an absolutely beautiful city. Even in the winter.

Can’t wait to explore more uncharted territory πŸ‘

Birthdays πŸŽ‰πŸŽ‚πŸ₯³

It is one of the easiest ways to make someone's day.

Wish people a happy birthday on Facebook, LinkedIn, via text message, a phone call or send a card in the mail :)

Remember when you were in Elementary School and people sang Happy Birthday to you? Wasn't that great?

Let's bring that back.

I am going to be posting 1 video a day.

I challenge you to create something every day.

Could be art, a blog post, a sentence or word.

Let's see what you can accomplish this February.
